Burning Man’s People Operations (PO) team is looking for volunteers!


What’s a PO department and what’s it do in Black Rock City and Burning Man Headquarters?

PO supports internal Human Resources services to Burning Man staff. We recruit and hire new staff, provide orientation and training, administer employee benefits, and guide employee relations, manager coaching, and employee development. We have an on-site presence in our San Francisco headquarters, as well as an office container location in Black Rock City.

What are we looking for?

We are seeking compassionate professionals who care about people as individuals, within the context of our shared community values. We need short-term volunteer help on occasion from those with experience and skills in the following areas:

  • Coaching, counseling, mediation, conflict resolution
  • Crisis intervention
  • Personal well-being, work/life balance, stress relief
  • Job search, placement, coaching services
  • Human Resources and People Operations practices sharing

Where do we need help?

As mentioned above, situations arise from time to time where we'd love some volunteer help in our headquarters located in San Francisco, California.

Additionally,  we are seeking talented, experienced Human Resources and People Operations professionals to volunteer on-playa for the upcoming 2018 event.
